A poetic puzzle

Morning greetings with delight:

your challenge is to find light,
namely in a poetic trite,
all it takes is some insight.
maybe as it is really bright
everyone will find it right?

I had a weird dream last night,
sigh 'twas a melodramatic fight
pen and paper in foolish blithe
rantin' and reavin' bout their plight
aghast, I fought with my sword upright
kept on till it broke to the pen's might
alas! my only escape was to quickly write
something mine, which also is a fact and a trait
ha! its a synonym to my characteristic weight.

Need a clue?
First things first.. just read the poem well.. and think straight ;-)

I tried day and night,
to get the answer right.

but ended up having a laughter great,
since Gay has asked us to "think straight" :D

With all due respect
lets sit and retrospect
for there was a demonstration
actions define not appellation
but sigh, irony wins anyday,
the poem's about it anyway :P

I think we should pause a minute
And read the riddle, all nicely writ
my senses tell me it's easy to crack,
great to read, fun to hack.

And if there's something common
you can find in this poem
truth you'll see, simple as it is
Or even that if you miss

Open your mind to his *hint*.

just simply tame
to seek fame "

Ah, who would've thought
this riddle could've sought
poetry that seems long lost
with compliments that I'd never've got!

And oh, looks like confessions are going on in the comments section :-)

dei....though i know what you want others to find....i'm a tad puzzled as to the reason behind all this....any ulterior motive to it all..?

Yeah, a little bit of it, something to remind the ones in the jungle of what they probably might've forgotten :)
